It's Christmas Again!

Christmas.

I feel like I just celebrated it a few months ago. In July, while in Nicaragua, we celebrated Christmas with the kids at Casa Betesda, the orphanage my team lived at for 5 weeks. We told them the Christmas story, we watched a Christmas movie, we wore red and green, and gave them each a gift. We also sang an assortment of Christmas songs like "Feliz Navidad." Who knew one of the little boys would be singing it the next morning at breakfast?! Now that it's Christmas season again, I want nothing more then to be back with those precious kids.

I miss the simplicity of life there. Even our little Christmas celebration, it was perfect and was a great picture of what I wish every person's holiday season could look like. One of giving, one filled with love, one void of expectations for what you will receive from others. A holiday season where we can remember how BLESSED we are. Not just in our physical things, but more importantly, remembering that Christmas is about our Saviour being born. He was born with the purpose of redeeming us. I think we are all guilty of allowing the world's tainted version of Christmas get in the way of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. So that's my goal for this upcoming month. To remember why I celebrate Christmas. Not for presents or even the time spent with my family, but to remember the birth of my Healer, Redeemer, and Friend, and to give out of love just as He has done for me and continues to do.

Celebrating Christmas in Nicaragua.

Hi, I know this is kind of weird, but I've been searching for the campsite that SB2Wild used and I saw you went. I was wondering if you remembered where that was? Please contact me if you do.
