actual words about the college experience

So my last blog was pictures, but that can only say so much when it comes to what has happened. When I got here, I of course had those freshman anxieties. Who doesn't?!?! Meeting so many new people was probably the most overwhelming thing I have ever experienced. When you've known the same people your whole life and went to school with the same small amount of people, seeing a different and new person everywhere you looked was really scary!! I didn't know what I wanted to get involved with ministry wise here. I was actually leaning towards Cru instead of IV. But, then I met my small group leaders for IV who handed me this invitation thing and it had pictures of them in a hammock. For those who don't know, I have a strange obsession with hammocks and I think that was the moment where I just knew IV was where God wanted me to be. I actually laugh thinking about that now...it's pretty funny you must admit. I love my small group and it has been an incredible blessing getting to know each of them. My hall (2B) has been so incredible too. Literally, God could not have placed me in a more perfect spot. I've been so blessed. I really can't think of much else to say. I love college. I love the free time I have and the amount that I've gotten to spend reading my Bible and other Christian books that have been inspiring me to live a better life. I of course miss Nicaragua and Triple R and home soooooooo much, but coming to college was the best decision I have ever made. I look forward to seeing myself grow more in Christ and more in my relationships with others.

Some of my small group on IV's New Student Retreat

So much love. the 2 on the right of me are my crazy (but amazing) small group leaders. and the 2 on the left are in small group. We're wearing our "Get Silly" t-shirts. So appropriate for our small group.

LOVE.
